In the heart of the Monferrato area, Locanda del Sant’Uffizio in Cioccaro di Penango (Asti) was recently the subject of a careful restoration intervention and transformed from a monastery into a prestigious, luxury wellness centre.
The renovation of the architectural complex also involved the opening of a new spa centre, called Spa Aquanatura, and the previous name “Locanda del Sant'Uffizio” changed into the more complex title of Relais Sant'Uffizio Wellness Hotel & Spa. In the design, the architect Barbara Massa tried to create sensitive surroundings with the clever use of light, colours, textural and sound elements to stimulate all the senses in a positive way.
In the swimming pool, Neutra collection in the white colour shade was chosen, combined with Vetro Neutra in the mosaic version; this was also used in the showers and in room flooring. In the relaxation area, on the other hand, the wood flooring ceramic tiles of Belgique, inspired by the texture of oak wood, were used.
The Unique collection by Rex is reminiscent of the essential nature of terracotta in the pool edge and in the area reserved for massage.
