The goal of the interior design was to avoid distracting attention from the direct overlook of the suite onto the Cathedral square and the view of the majestic cathedral.
This design proposes the promotion of the biggest environmental resource the setting has to offer, namely the monumental structure, naturally in addition to the use of environmentally certified materials, entirely LED light sources and an architectural apparatus that requires minimum maintenance operations throughout its management.
The project falls within the recovery for 5 and 7 star hotel use of the historic buildings of the Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery and the North side of Piazza Duomo in Milan.
“The primary difficulties were dictated by the building's procurement terms, the limited sizes of the job site passages and the complex laying plan that demanded precise cuts, custom done in the laboratory – reveals architect Massimo Magaldi – But the 6 mm thickness of the material and the significant reduction in the weight of the largest elements facilitated handling and final laying brilliantly.”
