The Nature Mood series by Florim has received an award in the “finishes” category at the Archiproducts Design Awards 2022, an event celebrating excellence in international design.
The international jury, consisting of 40 of the most prominent personalities in the world of international creativity, was impressed by the “concept and design” of the collection. Nature Mood also received the “Sustainability Award”, presented by a team of specialists in eco-design and sustainability in the field of architecture and design, “due to the production technique that reduce pollution emissions to a minimum” making it a brace of acknowledgements for a ceramic collection that proposes a creative juxtaposition of two materials to generate a marble and wood effect.
Nature Mood is the upshot of a sustainable design that reinterprets the warmer hues inspired by the world of marble with the clean, minimal veining of wood, thereby conceiving spaces that are interwoven in a harmonious dialogue. The surfaces range between different end uses, such as floors, wall coverings, furniture elements and ventilated walls, and are characterised by elegance and naturalness. The result is a “therapeutic” effect that makes it possible to rediscover that psycho-physical balance from which increasing urbanisation and technology often distance us.
An example of circular economy, Nature Mood is the outcome of a sustainable production process that recovers and optimises 100% of raw waste and 100% of wastewater. Florim, which is B Corp certified, can self-generate up to 100% of the electricity required for its Italian based facilities thanks to the presence of two cogeneration plants and the installation of 64,000 m2 of photovoltaic panels. When solar energy is insufficient, the company procures power only from renewable sources.
This year’s seventh Archiproducts Design Awards assessed more than 800 products nominated from 50 countries and selected those that stood out for innovative solutions embracing the culture of design.
