11 to 14 May 2022 will see the 2nd edition of BAM Open Air Design, the first four-day outdoor design event held on the grass of the Biblioteca degli Alberi Park in Milan.
Conceived by COIMA Image within the cultural program of the BAM, a project by Fondazione Riccardo Catella, the event originated from Alida Catella’s vision of creating a design happening for the city of Milan that would reflect the current era of dramatic change and focus on regeneration, sustainability and beauty as the key to the future of each one of us.
Florim will star alongside 8 other companies – Artemide, De Castelli, JANUS et Cie, Lualdi, Poltrona Frau, Riva1920, Roda and Sesia&Co. with Boffi|DePadova – which will be provided with a “White Circle” to display the most iconic pieces from their respective collections.
A design museum created amongst the trees of the BAM celebrates the Nature-Culture symbiosis by means of 240 free, inclusive events open to all.
Florim’s “White Circle” has been named Helios and is a place for quiet thought and the contemplation of nature, lit by interplays of light and shade. Helios nourishes those who inhabit its space and simultaneously captures and releases positive energy through the harmony created by the patterning of its ceramic slabs, cleverly arranged around a central seat. This artistic installation with sculptural qualities by Elena Salmistraro for Florim symbolizes the centrality of humanity within nature, an inexhaustible source of beauty and wellbeing. At the same time, Helios is an abstract work of art with a strong message, expressing the circularity which links design, industry and people.
