Today, in observance of the National Day for Energy Saving, Florim is participating in the ‘M’illumino di Meno‘ campaign to spread the culture of environmental sustainability and resource conservation.
The exterior lighting of our 4.0 plants in Fiorano and Mordano will remain off for the entire day. This symbolic gesture, although small, has a significant impact and aims to raise public awareness about the crucial issue of energy saving. This issue has always been at the forefront of Florim’s efforts and has been translated over the years into concrete and fundamental initiatives:
- All our plants are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that have a low energy impact.
- Since 2011, we have been investing in photovoltaic systems for the production of electricity. To date, the company has covered 127,000 sqm of surface with panels, amounting to a total power of 3 MWp.
- Thanks to two cogeneration plants and the photovoltaic panels, we can self-produce up to 100% of the electrical needs for our Italian sites, and when necessary, we only purchase electricity from certified renewable sources.
- About 80% of our facilities can rely on low-energy-consumption LED lighting.
- We have produced and internally distributed a manual on this subject to spread good practices in the workplace and in the home environment.
We are ISO 50001 certified for energy management and determined to avoid energy waste, not just today, but as a commitment to a more sustainable future.
Aware of how crucial the energy transition is and that it must be undertaken collectively, with this symbolic gesture, we aim to contribute to the awareness campaign by inviting the community to reflect on the need to reduce consumption and preserve resources.
