The Regeneration of the building sector in the residential cores of our cities is an increasingly urgent issue. The awareness of the abandonment of historic and rural centers and the consequent increase in neglect and degradation is more and more widespread and understood. Not everyone has the sensitivity to implement a process like Regeneration. It’s much easier to consume new land and build new constructions. But something will necessarily have to change in the coming years. – Arch. Andrea Benedetti – Panificio Architecture Workshop

This private residence, located in the province of Brescia, embodies a refined transformation with a change of use from agricultural to residential. The extensive renovation project affected various buildings that were once separate, which have been joined into a single living reality. The intervention has preserved and enhanced the original architectural features of the rural complex: the wooden trusses, ridge beams, and purlins, as well as the wooden roof with its authentic terracotta tiles. In a sharp, intentional contrast, the chosen Florim porcelain stoneware coverings are modern, technical but also capable of establishing a natural dialogue between past and present, between tradition and innovation, coexisting in perfect harmony.
The Florim Sensi collection, selected in grey color and in the dust, sand, and fossil graphics, has been used for the coating of both indoor and outdoor floors, stairs, the TV cabinet, and the ground floor bathrooms. Drawing inspiration from raw earth, the different variations of the collection in the same shade allow for a fluid and uninterrupted atmosphere, while the alternation of graphics adds a touch of sophisticated elegance. This holistic use of material contributes to the creation of spaces that flow harmoniously, enhancing the sensation of an open and integrated environment.
Contrasting pleasantly with the sobriety, the Heritage Luxe collection, chosen in the Emerald hue for the kitchen island countertop, sink, and sides, makes a strong statement with its large slabs that blend beautifully with the warm tones of the original wooden beams, enriching the home with distinctive charm.
For the master bedroom and adjacent bathroom, the elegance of the Rock Salt collection's veins in Celtic grey has been chosen. This choice not only lends a unique sensitivity to these private spaces but also integrates the overall vision with an aura of tranquility and a naturalistic look.
