Health and Training Centre
At the heart of our Fiorano headquarters is a center dedicated to training, research and advanced medical simulation. A unique model, recognized by the American Heart Association, that brings together industrial culture and healthcare culture, combining them for the benefit of our local community.
The Center
The Health and Training Center, established in 2014 through a collaboration between FLORIM and Ospedale di Sassuolo S.p.A, is a unique project on the national scene, bringing together industrial culture and healthcare culture with the aim of promoting training, research and advanced medical simulation.
Located at FLORIM’s headquarters, the facility covers more than 600 sqm and includes a conference room and spaces equipped for educational and training activities. The heart of the center is the control room, where advanced technology makes it possible to manage different types of robotic manikins (newborn, child, adult and woman in labour), which reproduce human functions in the adjacent simulation room.
The Center’s activities, managed by Ospedale di Sassuolo S.p.A., have involved numerous healthcare professionals over the years from Ospedale Santa Maria Nuova in Reggio Emilia, Azienda USL di Reggio Emilia, Azienda USL di Modena, as well as staff from Ospedale di Sassuolo. Since 2024, UNIMORE – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia has also joined the project, with the collaboration subsequently renewed and extended to new disciplines.
The Health and Training Center is an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site, the oldest and most authoritative American organization publishing global guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the treatment of cardiovascular emergencies.

The Center’s Activities
Certified AHA Training
Heartsaver BLS (Basic Life Support for laypersons), BLS (Basic Life Support for healthcare providers), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) courses.
Advanced Medical Simulation
Neonatal resuscitation, obstetric emergencies, and pediatric emergencies.
Technical and specialized training
Training course by WHO/UNICEF on breastfeeding for healthcare providers, theoretical and practical course on venous access in children and newborns, fetal cardiotocographic monitoring during labor, labor induction.
The history of the Center
2014
Inauguration of the Center. Thanks to a sophisticated control room and two highly advanced mannequins (newborn and child), the training of doctors, nurses, and midwives for handling real emergency situations begins.
