FLAIR: integrated porcelain stoneware railings
Where glass meets porcelain.
FLAIR (Florim + Aluvetro Integrated Railing) is the new railing system developed through the strategic partnership between Aluvetro and Florim for the Garda and Modular ranges. The project brings together porcelain stoneware, glass, aluminium, slats and sheet metal in a single solution designed to create continuity between the railing, balcony and building envelope.
Specialized expertise in railing systems
Founded in 2014 on the expertise gained in flat glass processing, Aluvetro designs, manufactures and markets balustrade and railing systems in glass, aluminium, slats and sheet metal for indoor and outdoor applications.
The partnership with Florim brings together complementary expertise: Florim selects and coordinates surfaces, finishes and colours, while Aluvetro develops the system engineering and manufactures the finished product, integrating solutions in glass, slats and sheet metal.
Two systems, one coordinated design language
FLAIR was developed for two Aluvetro systems, designed to integrate Florim porcelain stoneware into the railing and coordinate the balustrade with the architecture of the building.
Garda Flair
The solution is based on the Garda SP system and integrates porcelain stoneware within a layered composition designed for the railing.
Enamelled glass in a coordinated colour helps manage the relationship between the decorated porcelain surface and the transparency of the glass, maintaining a consistent visual appearance.
Modular Flair
Developed from the Modular FS post system, it combines an aluminium structure with glass and porcelain stoneware.
The configuration retains the compositional flexibility of the Modular system and allows the railing to be coordinated with the surfaces specified for the project.
Continuity between railing and façade
FLAIR was developed to extend porcelain stoneware beyond the façade and integrate it into the balustrade system. The aim is to achieve visual continuity between the cladding and railing, while keeping glass, aluminium and the ceramic surface distinct and clearly defined.
The colours of the enamelled glass are coordinated with Florim surfaces to reduce the visual impact of the technical reverse side of the porcelain stoneware and create a more cohesive overall result.
