Surfaces glossary
Finish MATTE
The Matte surface is defined by a typically opaque appearance and may be smooth or slightly textured.
This effect is achieved through material pressing without further processing after firing.
Finish ANTISCIVOLO
The Antiscivolo surface is designed to ensure specific safety characteristics, featuring variable depths and a three-dimensional aesthetic effect. This surface is created
through pressing with a smooth or textured pad and does not undergo additional processing after firing.
Variants include Matte Ptv, Grip and Cannetè.
The Matte Ptv surface is designed to achieve R10 safety characteristics, suitable for its intended use; the PTV value exceeds the BS EN 16165 ANNEX C >36 wet test,
slider 96. The Grip surface is intended to achieve R11 antislip safety characteristics, suitable for its intended use; the PTV value exceeds the BS EN 16165 ANNEX C >36
wet test, slider 96.
Finish SOFT
The Soft surface is characterized by a velvety effect and may be smooth or slightly textured.
It features a soft, slightly satin and non-reflective finish, appearing more opaque than the lapped finish.
This finish is obtained through intermediate-intensity mechanical processing performed after firing on a previously pressed surface.
Variants include Matte Soft and Matte Leather.
Finish SEMI-GLOSSY
The Semi-Glossy surface is characterized by a semi-matte and moderately reflective appearance.
It may be smooth or slightly textured.
This surface is obtained through brushing and mechanical polishing with decreasing abrasion after firing.
Variants include Matte Silk and Satin.
Finish GLOSSY
The Glossy surface is defined by a shiny effect. It may be smooth (reflective/mirror-like) or slightly textured.
On smooth surfaces, this result is achieved through brushing and mechanical polishing with decreasing abrasion after firing.
On slightly textured surfaces (e.g. SensiColore), the product is already glossy when it comes out of the kiln.
