The annual appointment with the Lucchese Award, promoted by the Ing. Giovanni Lucchese Foundation, took place on Saturday, May 24.

On this occasion, 11 scholarships were awarded to students from the "Alessandro Volta" Secondary School in Sassuolo who graduated in 2024 with top marks.

Also attending the ceremony were the Grade 11 students of all programs at the Institute, who took part in a discussion on the topic of the day: "VINTAGE or AVANT-GARDE? What would today’s youth preserve from their parents’ era, and what would they anticipate among the megatrends of the future?"

Two opposing teams presented their views to the audience through a debate format designed to encourage critical thinking. Moderated by a neutral peer, the team members carried out in-depth research on data, sources, and real-life examples in the days leading up to the event, then presented their arguments with both analytical insight and creativity. As per tradition, the event was hosted by journalist Leo Turrini.

The Lucchese Award – organized in collaboration with the Italian Ceramic Society – is part of the calendar of initiatives and events promoted by the Ing. Giovanni Lucchese Foundation, which focuses its efforts on supporting the local area.
