OHR 2026 - INSULAE Talks: "Revealing Matter" with Domitilla Dardi

Starting from her "Mineralia", Domitilla Dardi proposes a reinterpretation of matter as an active system, capable of generating form, imagination and design. Minerals, crystals and natural structures reveal a hidden vitality composed of geometries, symmetries and processes that intersect art and design. The talk explores the relationship between knowledge and imagination, showing how design emerges from the deep observation of matter and from its ability to suggest forms, functions and narratives. A journey that transcends the distinction between natural and artificial, restoring to design an almost alchemical and cultural dimension.

DOMITILLA DARDI Design historian and curator, she is co-founder and director of EDIT Napoli, the fair dedicated to collectible design. Her work combines research, curatorial practice and teaching, with a constant focus on production processes and on the enhancement of contemporary designers and artisans.
