The Green Good Design Awards 2024 honors FLORIM stone

Florim has reached another important milestone with the award of the prestigious international Green Good Design Awards 2024 to the FLORIM stone brand.

The award was given by the "Chicago Athenaeum - Museum of Architecture and Design" and "The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies", which select organizations worldwide that promote forward-thinking with an increasingly sustainable design approach.

The FLORIM stone collections, dedicated to furniture and worktops, combine design and functionality in a large format (320x160 cm) offered in three thicknesses (6-12-20 mm). The surfaces are produced in facilities where 100% of raw production waste and 100% of wastewater are recovered, and where 127,000 square metres of surfaces covered with photovoltaic panels provide 12.3 MWp of installed capacity. Photovoltaic systems and cogeneration units contribute to the self-generation of electricity for the Italian production facilities; when internal generation is not sufficient, Florim purchases electricity from certified renewable sources.

FLORIM stone is included in the CarbonAction program, which integrates emissions measurement, interventions on processes and support for climate projects registered under international standards. Support for these projects is separate from interventions on processes and neither eliminates nor neutralizes the emissions associated with the collections, nor does it change the value of the calculated emissions.

The Green Good Design Awards was established in 2008 as the "Green" edition of the "Good Design Award"; in 2021, Florim received the award for the Sensi collection.
