It is a prodigious installation which, strengthened by an experimental lighting system that is ahead of its time, knows no rest. In fact, it is open 24/7 and covers almost thirty-thousand square meters of floorspace.
The white walls in lacquered glass, enhanced by delicate themed prints, give the hall a surreal atmosphere. The banister on the stairs that lead to the upper floor give off a distorted reflection, while the lighting, also custom designed, plays all of its cards on the edge of excitement.
A frame of the movie “Forbidden Songs”, the first produced by the Studios, directed in 1947 by Leonard Buczkowski, was chosen as the graphic theme for the façade of the hotel.:
Each pixel of the image corresponds to a panel on the wall. Each panel is painted with twelve shades of gray, shades that are impressed in the glass using a technological solutions called screen printing. The light source, protected by double glass, remains hidden from view.
