The 59th edition of the “Bice Bugatti – Giovanni Segantini International Award” assigns the Lifetime Achievement Award to the Modenese artist Franco Guerzoni, designer of the Archeologie collection for CEDIT.
The contemporary art event – curated by the art critics Martina Corgnati – hosted renowned artists and curators during its past editions, and is currently paying homage to Guerzoni through the personal exhibitions entitled “Franco Guerzoni. Pareti, immagini, un po’ di polvere” and “La memoria della pittura. Omaggio a Franco Guerzoni” (from June 9th at Villa Brivio in Nova Milanese).
Born in 1948, the artist has designed Archeologie for CEDIT – Ceramiche d’Italia brand (originally launched in 2016) which transfers on large porcelain surfaces his pictorial language inspired by the “stripped fresco” technique. The collection is also on display at the “AMBIENTI” installation in Venice, at Campo Santo Stefano, open to the public until July 8th.
